PanaCast 2 with Whiteboard Makes the Final!
The Install Technology Excellence Awards are just around the corner, and we’re thrilled to announce that PanaCast 2 with the PanaCast Whiteboard Application has been picked as a finalist for the category of “Collaboration Product of the Year”. The short-listed finalists for the award were revealed on the 26th of April, in preparation for the ceremony taking place on Thursday the 28th of June, in London.
The PanaCast’s small footprint makes it a natural for Huddle Rooms
Previous winners of the Install Awards include Sahara Presentation Systems, Shure and Antycip Simulation. We’re excited to say that we’re competing in one of the newest categories for the Technology Excellence Awards, which focuses on the rising importance of collaboration in the workplace.
The PanaCast 2: A Collaboration Leader
Altia Systems’ PanaCast 2 Intelligent Camera System is the collaborative camera experience that earned its entry as a finalist to the Install Awards category for Collaboration Product of the Year. Ever since Altia came up with the idea for the ultra-wide view camera for meeting rooms, huddle spaces, classrooms and lecture theatres, they’ve been focused on developing state of the art video experiences for organisations in today’s rapidly-evolving communication environment.
PanaCast Whiteboard
PanaCast Whiteboard is an advanced machine intelligence application using state-of-the-art video analytics to detect any type of standard whiteboard or writing wall in the room. The application extracts the image of the whiteboard from the main video feed, corrects for geometric distortion removing any keystone or radial distortion and applies contrast and brightness enhancement to present a perfect image of the whiteboard which it then makes available as shareable content in the video call alongside the main room/presenter view.
In situations where the need is for the far-end to see clearly what is being written on the board or wall, Whiteboard provides an attractive solution compared with costly electronic smart boards especially where the far-end may not have access to a compatible (or any) board equipment.
We’ve entered an era where collaboration is critical to the performance of any company. As remote working grows increasingly popular, it’s crucial for today’s organisations to be able to interact with their employees, clients, and shareholders in an immersive, and fully engaging format. The PanaCast 2 camera supports this vision with 180-degree image coverage, a panoramic 4K resolution and a state-of-the-art human visual perspective that makes everyone feel like they’re right there in the room.
And because PanaCast 2 complies with the industry USB Video Class (UVC) standard, it works seamlessly with your web and video collaboration apps, including Microsoft’s Skype Room Systems, Zoom, BlueJeans Network, Cisco WebEx and many more.
Many HE/FE clients are also successfully using PanaCast 2 for lecture capture with applications like Panopto™.
